Paid Maternity Leave
Employees who are employed by SPS full-time and have been with the district for a full year as a full-time employee are eligible for 6 weeks of Paid Maternity Leave.

How Do I use my Leave?
Full-time employees with SPS accrue sick and personal leave with the district, which can be found on Frontline Absence Management.
Most part-time employees with SPS accrue sick leave. If you have questions about your sick leave accruals, please contact the Human Resources Department.

What is a qualifying event in Insurance?
Can I make a change to my insurance before Option period?
Yes, the insurance group (EGID) will allow an employee to add or drop insurance for themselves or a dependent within 30 days of the circumstances listed below.
They will require documentation that this has occurred in most situations, so please contact your Benefits Specialist for more information.
- A change in marital status, such as marriage, divorce, or the death of a spouse.
- A change in the number of dependents, such as the birth of a child.
- A change in employment status that affects an employee’s eligibility.
- A change in the coverage of a spouse or dependent under another employer’s plan.
- A change in a dependent’s status that causes them to gain or lose eligibility.
- The commencement or termination of adoption procedures.
- Court judgments, decrees, or orders.
- Medicare or Medicaid (SoonerCare) eligibility for an employee or dependent.
